Take a walk on the Alternate Side

I dare you!
http://www.thealternateside.com/
Eclectic public radio station from Fordham University in the Bronx, New York.
I daresay it's better than WOXY.

It's the most appealing, innovative, and eclectic radio station I've come across so far (which aren't many, but more than most methinks). I've noticed that a few songs are played almost religiously, but I don't begrudge them this for a large portion of their program features music from deserving, largely unknown local artists.

Possible side effects from listening include an infectious urge to dance and wiggle, risk of attaining hipster status within your social circle, an expanded mind, and lifetime aspirations to be an indie singer-songwriter distinguished for producing obscene quantities of genre defying works of supreme danceability.

In other news, my driver's license arrived in the mail today! Now... to learn how to drive with confidence before I must assist in the transportation of the family and myself safely to Indiana and back. If I was driving an automatic it'd be a piece of cake, but alas, my parents are old school.

The living dead

Does pure happiness exist?
Or does our capacity for it wither as we mature, assimilate, and diminish?
Is it lost with our innocence?
Does our collective conscience ever clear? It seems we're always working for somebody else's ends.
Must we deaden our senses and escape to unreality to have some peace of mind?

Is melancholy and sadness inevitable?

Original sin, original intent?
It seems I'm always making up for something left undone, attempted, placed aside, forgotten, or otherwise. I can't shake this chainmail suit of guilt that's draped about my soul!

How does one live with their self? How does one know they're right? Settle and accept.

False friends aren't much fun.

Le sigh-

Welcome, dear stranger

I'm afraid I don't have much to say besides that. I thank you in advance for reading through my tentative thoughts and bearing with my painfully feeble grasp of the world and myself. This is a drawing board, trash bin, filing cabinet, and refrigerator door. I value each state, as one couldn't exist without the others. This is in part an exercise to exorcise the pretensions I've accumulated over the years so you can rest assured (i.e. overused statement) knowing everything I post will be my own bona fide brain crap.
